Still alive in Japan

I know I haven't updated my blog in over a month and its a really long story involving not only danger and excitement, but also a move to a new apartment which is still waiting to get the internet installed in. So instead of trying to catch up I'm just going to pretend like nothing happened. On a sidenote though, in Japan when you get internet installed it takes about six weeks for them to actually get you set up. When I asked the salesgirl why it took so long she told me that they have to do construction to set up your connection and get your house wired or something. At this point I told her that in America you can get it done the same day you buy it and she refused to believe me. Actually refused. So needless to say Japan is still a little odd no matter how advanced they are. Also I've been in two earthquakes since being over here so that was rather exciting. But its really late here so I'll leave you with some pictures from Kyoto which is absolutely amazing. Also I did laundry in my new apartment for the first time in my tiny washing machine, which is on my balcony, and now all of my clothes have soapy crap all over them so hooray for that.
